So today I started my diet.... back on the weightwatchers and am determined to be militant about it this time. I can't continue adding pounds here and there every year. It's quite frustrating given the amount of running, swimming and training that I've been doing over the last year to only see a total of less than 10kg shift.. only to be knocked back to almost starting point following 2 successive bouts of illness, first the flu and then a severe cold that hit my sinuses really badly. I basically had to reduce my running to a crawl from the first part of November.
I digress. The point of this blog is to track weightwatchers journey as I start to change attitude and add a serious commitment to dieting to my running schedule. I have been meaning to lose weight all year last year with the hope of dropping my 10k time to about 70 minutes... despite all the training I was doing this has not happened.
Ultimately I want to lose about 100 pounds in 3 months....
So what's the plan...
1. Start up with weightwatchers: check!
2. Run at least 20-25km a week... tomorrow I start with my first 5.
3. Go back to swimming weekly
4. Do at least 2 sessions of weight training a week ( Tuesdays and Thursdays)
5. Update this blog
Tomorrow I will weigh myself and set out some measurements... til then... so long!
Fran - watch this video about the best exercise to do for fat burn and anti-ageing. Loads of it on youtube. I'm embarking on a journey this year myself. Many hours of cardio not necessarily the most effective for weight loss as we've been told.
